The Bible Bus

"The Bible bus" is Thru The Bible Radio with Dr. J. Vernon McGee

From their website ttb.org:
"Thru The Bible is a 30-minute Bible study radio program that takes the listener through the entire Bible in just 5 years, going back and forth between the Old and New Testaments. This Bible study program has been aired on radio stations in the U.S. since 1967, and is now being produced in over 100 languages around the world."

Dr. McGee's purpose for the program:
On the broadcast in Colossians Dr. McGee remarked that it was "the purpose of the radio program to to get the Word through to people so that they could get to the living Christ (paraphrase)." And that "if it weren't that some were getting through, I would end the program (paraphrase)." In Psalms Dr. McGee made mention that he had often thought of putting down Psalm 34:3 as the theme verse for the program: "O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together."

What caused me try out this program:
I was given a Thru The Bible Radio New King James version Bible when I was ten years old from the pastor at our church, without knowing anything at all about the program. It wasn't until about early this year (2008) that I began to look for Bible podcasts to listen to at work. So I found a podcast for Thru The Bible Radio, and remembered that I had one of their Bibles. Well I started listening and have been growing ever closer in my relationship to the living Lord and Savior. It has been the greatest source of growth that I have found, and along with Dr. McGee I encourage you to "taste and see that the Lord is Good (Psalm 34:8)."
